My Past Guest's Comments

"My husband and I just got back from a fabulous trip to Vienna, Austria.  Our tour guide, Gabriela, was absolutely fantastic.  She was so personable and quickly understood our needs and paced the tour accordingly.  We were only in Vienna for a day and 1/2 but Gabriela made sure we got the flavor of this charming city.  Her knowledge of the history, culture, music, and great restaurants made for a memorable time.  I would recommend her without hesitation."

"During our Vienna vacation research on the internet for a personal guide, we found your website.   Searching through your site, we found and contacted Gabriela Jemelka.    We would recommend Gabriela to other visitors to Vienna, Austria who are seeking greater enjoyment from their vacations.

We had a great experience with Gabriela.   She quickly understood what we would like to see and learn.   It would have taken countless hours to read in travel guides and history books what she shared with us in the six hours.  The history lesson certainly helped us as our trip continued on to Prague.

She provided many suggestions along the way for activities and arranged concert tickets for us.   Her knowledge was wide ranging so it was nice to hear about Austrian history, the music, food, etc.

Our only regret was we had booked Gabriela for only 1 day. "

“With only three days to enjoy the city of Vienna, we were extremely lucky to connect with Gabriela as our private guide.  From the moment she met us at our hotel we knew we were in for a fun sightseeing experience.  Gabriela was extremely knowledgeable in the history and culture of Austria and really helped us understand and enjoy the unique energy of Vienna.  Our 4-hour walking tour offered us the luxury to move at our own pace and provided a wonderful overview of the city.  All of Gabriela’s insider tips – from where to get the best pastries to how to use Vienna’s public transportation system – helped us get the most out of our short visit to this magnificent city.  And her services didn’t stop at sightseeing; Gabriela recommended some fabulous local restaurants and helped arrange tickets for a Mozart concert that was the highlight of our visit.  We truly enjoyed our time with Gabriela.  Not only would we highly recommend her services to others, but we also would work with her again should we have the chance to return to Vienna."   Jennifer Belles, Arlington Virginia, September 2006

"Just got back from spending a short weekend in Vienna.  A day before I left I looked for a private tour guide of Vienna and came across a woman called Gabriela Jemelka.  I sent an email, not really expecting a response at such short notice, but to my amazement Gabriela replied within a few hours and we booked a day tour.  We split the tour into two - a 2 hour walking tour in the City Centre in the morning, a break for lunch and then we met up again at 3pm with a driver Gabriela arranged, for a 3-hour tour around the City.  We had an excellent time with Gabriela, who proved to be very knowledgeable in all aspects (art, history, politics etc.), not imposing and most importantly - she "understood" us very well pretty quickly.  We were three in our early 30's, didn't want to do very heavy-duty sightseeing, just to enjoy ourselves and she picked up on this pretty quickly and went along with it.  She took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own, and was very attentive to any request we had, big or small.  The driver she arranged was delightful, the car was very comfortable (a Chrysler Voyager) and the price was reasonable.  Very highly recommended!"  Joanna Landau

"Our family just returned from Vienna. We arranged to have Gabriela guide us for one and a half days. Her knowledge of Vienna and Austrian history, as well as her wit and charm convinced us to hire her for a third day!

How do we evaluate our time with Gabriela? We learned a great deal about Vienna and its history. We saw many things we wouldn't have seen on a big commercial tour. We experienced Vienna at our pace. Gabriela delivered first-rate service, meeting us at our hotel, arranging for outstanding concert tickets, joining us for lunch and snacks, and accompanying us to a U-Bahn stop near our hotel in the First District. Value added, for certain.

I've been to Vienna three times now. I learned more about the City from Gabriela in our short time together, and can highly recommend her services to tourists. My only regret is we didn't hire her to join us in the Wachau and Salzburg!

"We have just returned from a visit to Europe, and we wanted to tell you about our full day tour with Gabriela.  We only had a short time in Vienna, and speak very little German.  We had pre-arranged a 6 hour tour with Gabriela, and she came and met us at in the morning at our hotel to start the day.

Gabriela is a beautiful linguist, speaking many languages.  She was professional, but fun.  She let us tell her what we wanted to do, and was cheerful when we suggested a "break" for mid-afternoon refreshments.  You will find Gabriela easy to be with, very helpful, accommodating of whatever pace you/your group needs, and in general a lovely person.

Of course you never know when you are arranging things over the Internet, and if the plans would actually work.  But Gabriela is very good at what she does, and it is worth every penny (or Euro!) to have an individual, personal tour arranged.  We give her the highest recommendations, and thank you to Gabriela for a wonderful visit to Wien.  We will sign up for another tour on our next visit to Austria!
