Wessex Private Tour Guide

My name is Frances Brook.  I take private driving tours, coach tours and walking tours in cities and in the countryside, as a private, independent Blue Badge guide registered  for the South of England, West Country and London. I do day and half day tours and extended touring.   
 
My main region is wonderful Wessex, which includes the awesome prehistoric monuments of Stonehenge and Avebury, Salisbury and Winchester with their exceptional Cathedrals, the New Forest where ponies live wild, lovely Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Dorchester. I live near Southampton where  I meet clients from cruise ships. I also guide extended tours to Glastonbury and Wells, Devon and Cornwall, right down to Land's End. As well as touring in London, there are many places that can be visited on day tours from London such as Windsor, Oxford and Stratford on Avon, picturesque Cotswold villages, and Bath..
 
About me- I grew up in London and Ireland, married and had three children before qualifying as a professional tourist guide 20 years ago. Enthusiastic interpretation of history, legends and heritage (with plenty of anecdotes) is very much my style. I am licensed to guide in English, French, German, Italian and Thai.
 
Special Interest Tours- As your personal guide I could create a tailor-made tour  to suit your particular interests. It is occasionally possible to get a permit for  Special Access to the centre of Stonehenge out of hours, and I do tours with a special theme such as  Prehistory, Gardens, Thomas Hardy or Jane Austen.

Private Car tours in my fully insured air conditioned Toyota Lucida licensed for 5 passengers. Tours are costed individually depending on time and mileage. Tailor-made private tours can be quoted on request, the more popular ones are listed below.  Fees include fuel, ferries and parking but not entrances to sites.  Distances are guidelines, showing the basis for calculation, and allow flexibility within itineraries.
