Tour 1 - Montmartre on Foot - 3 Hours

The soaring white domes of Sacré-Cœur can be seen from almost anywhere in Paris, but this corner of the city needs to be explored on foot to be fully appreciated.  Your licensed guide will tailor your time together according to your personal preferences.  Do you want to see sites used in filming the movie "Amelie"?  Do Impressionist artists lives interest you?  Whatever your interest your private guide will bring the stories to life! Stroll past the outdoor artists in Place du Tertre. Enter the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur and let your guide explains its history. Take in the views of the Paris skyline, and the old haunts of artists like Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Utrillo, Modigliani and Renoir. Montmartre's name is said to come from the "mount of Mars", a Roman temple formerly here, but may also be from "mount of martyrs," since St. Denis, the patron saint of Paris was beheaded here.

Tour 2 - The Latin Quarter on Foot - 3 Hours

On this private walking tour with your licensed guide you will explore one of the most fascinating parts of Paris. Named because the Sorbonne's students spoke in Latin in class and on the streets, it was home to the Paris Commune in 1871 (Les Misérables), and writers like Hemingway in the 1930's.  You'll tour this area seeing sights like Place St-Michel, St-Séverin, St-Julien-le-Pauvre, the Musée de Cluny, the Sorbonne and the Panthéon all set among cafes, bars, gyro counters, crepe stands, and bistros that look like movie sets from Paris in the 1950's. Tour 3 - The Marais on Foot - 3 Hours

The Marais was developed in the 12th century, and Kings Henri IV and Louis XIII favored the area, but after the revolution it fell into ruin for centuries.  The name originally comes from the french word for swamp. You'll feel the past in its narrow streets and architectural styles that escaped the mid-19th century overhaul of architect Baron
Haussmann. It has now been "rediscovered" as a center of Parisian artistic and cultural life. It is a district of dramatic residences, artisan boutiques, galleries, gay bars, and lavish squares that seems older and more intimate than the rest of Paris.  Your private licensed guide will unveil its gems and history in this 3 hour easy walk.
