Tour 1- Highlights of Budapest - 4 Hour
Budapest straddles a gracious bend in the wide Danube River and is actually made up of two cities. Buda is the older residential hill top city, and Pest the newer commercial city on the flat side of the river.
Your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel and begin your tour on the Pest side by taking you to one of the largest and most impressive spaces of the city, the Heroes’ Square, home to the Millennium Monument - a vast complex of statues surrounded by the City Park. After a photo stop you'll pass palaces and villas on your way to the Hungarian State Opera House, one of the most beautiful public buildings in the country. Then after an interior visit to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, you'll see the massive, neo-Gothic Parliament Building, a landmark of Budapest. With almost two million citizens and 2000 years of history, Budapest is one of the most beautiful and dynamic capitals of Europe - the "Pearl of the Danube".
The next part of your tour begins by crossing the Chain Bridge to the Buda side. High on top of Castle Hill lies the Castle District, with Matthias church and the stunning Fishermen’s Bastion. You'll take in marvelous views of Pest and the Danube, and be able to visually trace your steps from earlier in the day. Following your visit of the church and the bastion, a short walk in to the Royal Palace of Buda gives a relaxing finish of your tour. |

Tour 2- Cultural Budapest - 4 Hour
Budapest has a unique culture that has been strongly influenced by the ancient Romans, the Turks, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Your driver guide will meet you at your hotel and start your private tour by driving down Andrássy road passing palaces and villas from the 19th century. Your first stop will be for a guided interior visit of the Hungarian State Opera House, one of the most beautiful public buildings in the country. Next your driver will take you to the largest synagogue in Europe (the Dohány) for another guided interior visit, as well as a tour in the Jewish Museum, with its important collection of artworks. The moving Tree of Life sculpted from stainless steel in Raul Wallenberg Memorial Park is a poignant reminder of those who perished under Nazi rule.
Finally a guided tour at the Franz Liszt Museum dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the composer will complete your tour. The museum is a reconstruction of Liszt's last Budapest flat where he lived between 1881 and 1886. The collection in the museum contains his original instruments, furniture, books, scores and personal objects. On the way back to your hotel, you'll pass his statue on Liszt square. |

Tour 3- Baroque Szentendre - 4 Hour
Your English speaking Driver-Guide will meet you at your hotel and drive you north along the Danube to the small Baroque settlement of Szentendre (from a medieval form of St. Andrew). You'll suddenly find yourself immersed in a picture book village of narrow, winding cobblestone streets, small squares and churches. The many museums, souvenir shops and cafes have made it one of the most popular places to visit from Budapest.
Since the Middle Ages Szentendre has been home to a wide mix of peoples, and after Hungary's liberation from the Turks it has taken on a decidedly Mediterranean atmosphere with its Baroque style center. Following a short orientation tour in the center, you will be free to explore and shop on your own. Walk along the riverside and visit the Margit Kovács Ceramic museum or the whimsical Marzipan Museum. This is a perfect opportunity to buy treasures that will remind you of you time in Hungary before your driver takes you back to your Budapest hotel. |

Tour 4- The Royal Palace of Gödöllo - 4 Hour
Your private Driver-Guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to The Royal Palace of Gödöllo east of Budapest. It is the largest Baroque palace in Hungary, and one of the largest one in all of Europe (183,000 square feet). Built in the 1700's, it was the summer residence of Sissi, the much loved queen of the Hungarians (her formal name was Elizabeth of Bavaria).
The palace’s newly renovated main wing houses the Queen Elisabeth memorial exhibition, showing what everyday life was like for the Royal Family in Gödöllo. The palace sits in a lush 28-hectare English style park.
After your guided interior tour of the castle, you can take a stroll through the grounds to the Royal Stables and equestrian Riding School, or enjoy a relaxing break in the Palace Cafe before your driver returns you to your hotel. |
