Dublin Private Tour Guide

My name is Paula Pohli.  I am a private independent Dublin City Tour guide.

My City- Dublin is a busy, atmospheric and social city. A city for walkers and talkers. In August 2008 Dublin was declared as one of Europe's "Cool Cities" (Der Spiegel magazine). It is the capital of the Republic of Ireland since 1922. Early independence years were economically difficult and Ireland remained agricultural and poor. However since the 1990's, the economy is booming and Dublin was the engine for this growth.  Dublin is being rebuilt and restored. Futuristic office blocks, new appartments reflect a push to modernise particularly in the Docklands and in the Subburbs. However the18th century brick Georgian townhouses still dominate the city streetscapes. Attractions are within walking distance: National Museum and National Gallery, Trinity College and St Patricks Cathedral. St Stephens Green Park offers a rest from the busy shopping precinct of Grafton Street. A stroll along the river Liffey is pleasant.

About Me- I was born and educated in Dublin. I have been guiding in Dublin for 13 years. I also passed the Irish tourguide exams in 1998 with first place and a grade of distinction. I am a licenced guide and a member of Dublin Tourism since 2001. I also speak German.
