Tour 1- Postcards of Rome - 4 Hour
Your English speaking Driver-Guide will pick you up at your hotel for this private half-day tour. During the next 4 hours you will see the highlights of Rome and make stops to take lots of photos. First is The Coliseum exterior and a nearby vantage point overlooking the ruins of the ancient Forum of Imperial Rome. Then you're on to the Trevi Fountain, where legend says that if you toss a coin in over your left shoulder, it will guarantee a return visit to the eternal city. Then your driver guide will take you for brief stops at the Spanish Steps, Pantheon (one of ancient Rome’s greatest buildings) and Piazza Navona. This beautifully designed square is home to Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers. Finally you'll stop at the Vatican before returning to your hotel. Gaze in awe at the symmetry of the Piazza San Pietro and the enormity of St. Peter’s Basilica. You'll have the Eternal City filling your mind and camera with indellable images, and you'll know exactly what you want to return to for deeper exploration. |

Tour 2- Ancient Rome - 4 Hour
You’ll meet your driver and licensed guide right at your hotel. Your tour begins as you make your way to the Coliseum (80 AD) perhaps the grandest and most famous of the city's monuments. This enormous arena once featured 76 numbered entrances, marble seats for 50,000 spectators, retractable shade awnings and subterranean passages. Your private guide accompanies you inside to explore and explain its amazing history. Next your guide will lead you through the ruins of one of the world’s most important historical sites, the Roman Forum, once the center of political, religious and commercial life. You'll end at Capitol Hill, the most sacred of Rome’s seven hills. This is the site where an Etruscan temple to Jupiter once stood. You'll climb the steps designed by Michelangelo to Piazza del Campidoglio. Finally, you'll enjoy a scenic drive back to your hotel, or ask to be dropped off elsewhere for lunch or to continue touring on your own. |

Tour 3- Vatican City - 4 Hour
Enjoy a half-day tour of the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel accompanied by your private licensed guide who will bring history to life. You’ll meet your driver and licensed guide right at your hotel. Then explore the Vatican’s museum complex which houses one of the most impressive collections of art and treasures from antiquity through today. (Total time in the museums including the Sistine Chapel is 2 - 2.5 hours) As you leave the Vatican Museum, you will walk to St. Peter’s Basilica. Gaze in awe at the symmetry of the Piazza San Pietro and the enormity of St. Peter’s Basilica, whose massive scale is almost too much to take in. The church, built in High Renaissance and Baroque style, is visually overwhelming. Your guide will show you Michelangelo’s exquisite Pieta, completed when the young master was just in his 20s. Tour 4- Best of Roma - 8 Hour
On this private full-day tour with your own licensed guide you'll see Rome's major sites plus enjoy a four hour tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica - allways with your guide and driver at your disposal. Your first stop after meeting at your hotel is the Vatican’s museum complex housing one of the most impressive collections of art and treasures from antiquity through the present day. In the Sistine Chapel you will marvel at the masterpieces by Michelangelo, including his frescoes of the "Creation" on the ceiling, painted during his 30's, and the "Last Judgment" filling the altar wall, completed when he was in his 60's. As you leave the Vatican Museum, you will walk to St. Peter’s Basilica. You'll be guided through the interior and, time permitting, head down to the Vatican grottoes to see the tombs of the popes, both ancient and modern. (Time to visit St. Peters is about 1 hour)
You'll have time for lunch (not included) and then it's off to the Imperial Forum and the Coliseum. Your guide accompanies you inside the Coliseum to explore and explain its illustrious history. Then you'll see the immense Arch of Constantine, built as a memorial to honor Constantine’s defeat of the pagan Maxentius in 306 AD. Your guide will lead you through the ruins of one of the world’s most important historical sites, the Roman Forum. The grand foundations, columns and arches have survived thousands of years since Rome controlled most of the known world as its empire. End at Capitol Hill, climbing the steps designed by Michelangelo to the Piazza del Campidoglio. Finally you will be returned to your hotel.
Note - The Sistine Chapel is not available separately, but is only able to be seen as part of the museum visit. The Vatican has a dress code. No bare shoulders, no shorts, no dresses above the knee, and no bare feet or exposed midriffs are allowed. Please come prepared, or you will be disappointed when you are turned away. |
