Edinburgh Private Tour Guide

My name is Fiona Maxwell.  I am an independent Blue-Badge Driver Guide qualified to work in English and French.  I live in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland, and I specialize in custom-made tours for discerning visitors.  I take my clients all over Scotland and to the islands in my very comfortable, spacious Volkswagen People Carrier (mini-van) which seats up to six passengers.  For bigger groups, I can hire larger vehicles.  I also book accommodation for visitors when conducting extended tours.

My City- I am based in Edinburgh, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  It is a blend of "Old Town" medieval architecture and "New Town" classical 18th century Georgian architecture.  Attractions not to be missed are the Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Yacht Britannia and our new Scottish Parliament designed by the late world-renowned Catalan architect Enric Miralles.  Within easy reach of Edinburgh are dramatic Stirling Castle, the rugged scenery of the Trossachs, romantic Loch Lomond and Glasgow with its fine Victorian architecture.  Even a day tour to Loch Ness to spot "Nessie" is possible from Edinburgh.

About Me- I am a professional Blue-Badge Tour Guide with a passion for Scotland and an in-depth knowledge of its history and culture.  My previous careers were in the media and latterly in Community Education.  I have a great interest in the outdoors and love introducing visitors to the wild, open spaces in Scotland.  I know all the best places to take visitors including all the hidden gems that can so easily be missed.
